COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

We want Aquadesk to be a safe place where people can come share and maintain their tanks. Please help us foster this community of fishkeepers. Post only your own photos and follow the law. Respect everyone on aquadesk, don’t spam people or post nudity/lewd content. This is a platform for aquatic animals; please do not post pictures of anything irrelevant.

By using Aquadesk, you agree to the guidelines listed below and our Terms of Use. We are committed to these guidelines and we hope you are too. Abusing the guideline may result in deleted content, disabled accounts, or other restrictions.

  • Share only photos that you’ve taken or have the right to share
  • Post authentic content of your tank and do not post anything you’ve copied or collected from the internet that you do not have the right to post.

  • Only post appropriate photos
  • Since this is a platform for aquatic animals/tanks, do not post irrelevant photos (i.e. people or things not related to fishkeeping). We do not allow nudity of any kind. We also do not tolerate any animal abuse/harassment.

  •  Spam-free
  • Do not contact people for commercial purposes. Only engage in genuine interactions about fish. Do not impersonate others or mislead others.

  • Follow the law
  • Aquadesk is not a place to support or praise terrorism, organized crime, or hate group. No one may coordinate poaching or selling of endangered species.
  • We have zero tolerance when it comes to sexual content involving minors and any animal abuse.

  • Respect other members
  • We want to foster a positive, diverse community. Do not hate on other people’s tanks. Do not become a “fish police”. Always treat other fishkeepers with respect. Do not harangue other fishkeepers for doing something differently. Be welcoming and open minded. Other fishkeepers may not have the same experience level as you. We encourage you to be welcoming to fishkeepers that are just getting started. When someone asks for help, give it with support.
  • We remove content that contains credible threats or hate speech, content that targets private individuals to degrade or shame them, personal information meant to blackmail or harass someone, and repeated unwanted messages. It is never OK to attack anyone based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disabilities, or diseases. Serious threats of harm to public and personal safetyaren't allowed. This includes specific threats of physical harm as well as threats of theft, vandalism, and other financial harm. We carefully review reports of threats and consider many things when determining whether a threat is credible.
  • Misinformation
  • You may not post intentionally deceptive content which can result in harm or death to the animals.

Help us keep the community strong:

  • If you see something that you think may violate our guidelines, please help us by using our built-in reporting option. We will review the reports and work as quickly as possible to remove content that does not meet our guidelines. Even if you or someone you know doesn’t have an Aquadesk account, you can still file a report. We may remove entire posts if either the imagery or associated captions violate our guidelines. Each case requires a different approach and we will try to tailor our response to each situation.
  • If you find content you don’t like, you can block the person who posted it. If there’s something you don’t like in a comment on one of your posts, you can delete that comment.
  • Many disputes and misunderstandings can be resolved directly between members of the community. If one of your photos was posted by someone else, you could try commenting on the post and asking the person to take it down. If that doesn’t work, you can file a copyright report. If you believe someone is violating your trademark, you can file a trademark report. Don't target the person who posted it by posting screenshots and drawing attention to the situation because that may be classified as harassment.
  • We may work with law enforcement, including when we believe that there’s risk of physical harm or threat to public safety.
